Our first Daisy Scout Troop meeting.

Our very first Daisy Troop meeting was a total success!!! After quick introductions we moved over to our name tag project. I spent a few hours the night before cutting out daisy flower petals from different color foam sheets.  Once I cut out the petals I trace a circle onto the yellow foam and cut those out as well. When the girls arrived I had each one of them pick a center (yellow circle) and gule any combination of colored flower petals onto the back of the circle. I let them dry while we were finishing up our meeting. Each flower was unique and expressed a bit of about the girl that was creating it. I saw some of the girls reach straight for the white petals (because daisies to them are always white) others spent time creating abstract daisies with all different colored petals. After the Daisies have dried I will punch a hole at the top of each one, place a piece of yarn in the hole so that they can wear it as a necklace and then write their names in the center of each of their creations for everyone to see!

This project was a great ice breaker and really gave us a chance to talk while we worked. I loved it and so did my girls.

Total cost $ 4.00 (with plenty of foam sheets left over for other projects)
Total time (10 min)

Have a great day!!!
